Influence of electron irradiation and thermal action on the polyimide films mechanical properties

Description
The experimental testings of polyimide film mechanical properties under electron irradiation and thermal action were carried out. Irradiation of samples were conducted on the ELU-6 accelerator (Abai Almaty State Univ.) with energy 2 MeV, beam density 0.5 μA/cm2. The experiments were conducted at simultaneous effect of thermal action and static load. It is revealed the relative extension increase on 20-100 % within temperature range 290-700 K. With temperature growth the initial extension velocity has been increased. At T=590 K for the first 20 s the extension makes up 70 %, and at T=610 K up to 100%
