Electric field gradient tensor in RE metal sites and effective atomic charges in RBa2Cu3O7 lattices
Description
Moessbauer emission spectroscopy of 155Eu(155Gd) is used to determine electric field gradient tensor in the rare earth metal sites of RBa2Cu3O7(R-REM or yttrium) created by crystal lattice ions. The electric field gradient tensor is calculated for REM sides in the point charge model approximation. Experimental and calculated data can agree if holes are localized in the sublattice of an oxygen chain. 15 refs., 5 figs., 2 tabs
