The measurement of the gastrointestinal absorption of neptunium-239 and curium-242 in humans
Creators
- 1. National Radiological Protection Board, Chilton (UK)
Description
An experiment is in progress to measure the absorbed fraction of ingested neptunium-239 and curium-242 in humans. Information is also presented on the urinary excretion of both elements after systemic injection. Results for the first three volunteers show absorption values of about 2 x 10-4 for neptunium and about 1 to 2 x 10-4 for curium. (author)
