Measurement of differential cross section for γd → pn in the energy range from 0.18 to 0.6 GeV

Description

The differential cross section for the reaction γd → pn has been measured by using a tagged photon beam in the energy range from 0.18 to 0.6 GeV at four CM angles between 150 and 720. The present experiment has clarified the behavior of the differential cross section at angles less than 400 for the first time. For the larger angles, the data are generally in good agreement with those of other experiments. The results are compared with the phenomenological analysis which has taken into account the effect of the dibaryon resonances. The comparison shows that the data are in disagreement with any of the predictions of the analysis. (author)
