Magnetooptics of a Ce3+-ion 4f-5d transition in alumo-yttrium garnet

Description

Spectra of absorption and magnetic circular dichroism (MCD) of Ce+3+ ion in alumo-yttrium garnet at 300, 90 and 30 K were obtained. The difference is connected with more severe selection rules in MCD spectra for nonsymmetrical oscillations. Phonon-free line is observed at frequency of 20520 cm-1. This observed oscillation frequencies are correlated with frequencies, released in Raman and IR absorption
