Investigation into ZrO2-Y2O3 solid electrolyte with In2O3 base ceramic lead out

Description

With the aim of developing hot electrodes for the MHD-generator, the interface between the solid electrolyte (88 mol.% ZrO2 - 12 mol.% Y2O3) and ceramic lead out (60 mol.% ZrO2 - 40 mol.% Zn2O3) is investigated. Volt-ampere characteristics of the interface taken before and after the passing of electric current prove the absence of processes leading to destabilization and destruction of solid electrolytes. The investigated solid electrolyte-ceramic lead out couple has high mechanical strength and resistance to the effect of direct current in the temperature range from 0 to 1600 deg C
