Description
Present work is carried out to investigate the mesh of liberation of the Dilband iron ore. Mesh of liberation play an important role to select an appropriate concentration method. For assessing the mesh of liberation the elemental and image analysis of different size fraction was conducted. XRF (X-Ray Fluorescence) techniques were used for elemental analysis, whereas image analysis was determined by using stereomicroscopea, nd SEM (Scanning Electron Microscope) attached with EDS (Energy Dispersive Spectroscop). The results of elemental analysis revealed impurities intergrowth extended down to Slim and none of the size fractions from - 600 micro m down to +5 micro m is found to be mesh of liberation of Dilband iron ore. The presence of gangue minerals was further confirmed by image analysis. It was also found that minerals specially quartz and fluoroapatite are so finely disseminated that complete liberation of hematite phase is seldom to achieve even up to +2 micro m. (author)
