Description
The possibility of analysis of irradjated samples has been studied using their characteristic, roentgen and soft γ-radiations with the help of the Si(Li) detector. The method of separation of β-particles by a constant magnetic field with strength of 2 keV was used to increase the selectivity and sensitivity of determination of separate elements in samples of biological origin (soil and plants). It is shown, that the magnetic field leads to 5-fold suppression of background level created by β-particles of irradiated samples in the energy range of 0-30 keV. Considered were the possibilities for determination of separate elements by characteristic roentgen radiations of irradiated samples using magnetic separation which supplements essentially the usual neutron-activation analysis and may be used to objects of biological, biogeochemical and medical origin
