Chemiluminescence reactions with participation of singlet oxygen and dioxethanes
Description
Review of works by the Chemical Institute of Bashkir Branch of the USSR Academy of Science, related to investigations into chemiluminescence (CL) of 1O2 singlet oxygen and dioxetanes, is presented. Works on the search of new sources and revealing the mechanisms of 1O2 formation, preparation of stable dioxetanes from sterically hindered olefins under their oxidation by singlet oxygen, determination of mechanisms of dioxetane CL strengthening by f- and d-element complexes are analysed. In particular, effect of terbium, europium and ruthenium complexes on CL during diadamantylidenedioxetane and tetramethyl-1,2-dioxetane thermal decomposition is discussed. Effect of these sensitizers on activation parameters of CL and dioxetane dark decomposition, is considered
