Tau identification at D0

Description

We describe methods to identify τ leptons produced in high energy p(bar p) collisions (√s = 1.96 GeV) at the Tevatron, using the D0 detector. Different procedures used for discrimination against background particles misidentified as taus are also discussed. Finally, we present some physics results obtained by applying these methods to illustrate their performance
