Isotopic substitution and partial structure factors

Description

After a review of some principles concerning the structure of multicomponent liquids and glasses and the study of coordination complexes through isotopic substitution techniques, past performance and future potential of isotopic substitution techniques are reviewed. A table describes the availability of isotopes (naturally occurring nuclides and artificial long-lived isotopes); it is shown that even with existing neutron sources, a substantial number of potentially interesting systems remain to be studied; improved fluxes and stability and improved techniques for the measurement of difference will open up new areas of science. 2 tabs., 21 refs
