Description
Properties of the TRIUMF neutron beam (4A /2) are presented and compared with a Monte Carlo prediction. The beam intensity profile, energy spectrum and polarization are predicted taking into account the beam line geometry, energy losses in the LD2 production target, the properties of the pd → npp reaction, and the scattering of neutrons from the collimator walls. The results allow for improved corrections to systematic errors in a number of TRIUMF neutron experiments. (author)
