On some peculiarities of Eu2+ and Yb2+ ion luminescence in quartz glass
Creators
Description
Eu2+ and Vb2+ ion luminescence and absorption spectra in quartz glass are investigated. A decisive effect of technological factors on luminescent properties of quartz glasses activated by bivalent rare earth ions is noticed. Presence of two luminescent complexes of Eu2+ ion with different luminescence properties is stated. It is suggested that they are in compliance with two different mechanisms of excited state deactivation. The first mechanism - solved configuration transition 4fn-15d-4fn, the second one - emissive transition from charge transfer state
