Reducing occupational doses at BWRs and PWRs

  • 1. Comitato Nazionale per l'Energia Nucleare, Rome (Italy)

Description

In this report the problem of reducing occupational doses at BWRs and PWRs is discussed. Data on occupational doses, both annual and for relevant maintenance operations, for operating LWRs are reported and worked out. A comparison is made between occupational doses experienced at BWRs and PWRs. These data are also useful for dose reduction at nuclear power plants, mainly during maintenance operations. The most important variables that can affect the doses and the ways to reduce the radiological hazard for workers are considered. (author)
