Description
The SCRIT electron scattering facility - a brand-new electron scattering facility dedicated to the study of short-lived nuclei - will soon commence operation at the RIKEN RI Beam Factory, Japan. Long anticipated, this is the world's first electron scattering facility of its type, and will permit electron scattering experiments for short-lived nuclei. In this report, we discuss the present status of the facility and its physics program, as well as future perspectives. (author)
