Directional gamma-gamma angular correlation in 72Ge
Description
The directional angular correlation of coincident γ-transitions in 72Ge has been measured following the β- decay of 72Ga. Measurements have been carried out for 44 gamma cascades resulting in the determination of multipole mixing for 23 γ-transitions. The present results confirmed some of the mixing ratios determined in the earlier studies and permitted definite assignments of spin to all the excited levels studied. The experimental results were discussed in terms of theoretical models proposed for this mass region and particularly, the anharmonic vibrational model gave the best description of the experimental data.
