An integrated maintenance system for power stations

Description
Increasing unit size, the growing complexity of the maintenance function associated with this and also the significance of the cost of personnel and maintenance work which results from it led RWE in the early 1970's to review and systematise existing maintenance practice. An attempt was made to integrate the numerous individual activities and isolated solutions to problems in the maintenance area into a single overall system, in order to be able to achieve improved and more effective control in future developments. Using as a basis an analysis of actual conditions which prevailed at that time, a system of 'Integrated Maintenance' was evolved and since about 1972 has been introduced in various stages in RWE's power stations. Abstract (German)
Aufgrund der steigenden Blockgroessen, der zunehmenden Komplexitaet der Instandhaltungsarbeiten und der Bedeutung der Personal- und Instandhaltungskosten wurde die Instandhaltungspraxis bei RWE zu Beginn der 70er Jahre veraendert und systematisiert. Es wurde versucht, die zahlreichen Einzelaktivitaeten und Einzelloesungen fuer Probleme im Instandhaltungsbereich in einem System zu integrieren, um bei kuenftigen Systemen bessere Kontrollmoeglichkeiten zu haben. Auf der Basis einer Analyse der damaligen Bedingungen wurde ein System der 'integrierten Instandhaltung' entwickelt, das seit 1972 in verschiedenen Phasen in den Kraftwerken des RWE eingefuehrt wurde.
