Supernova 1987A: theory versus observations
Description
This paper is devoted to SN1987A in the Large Magellanic Cloud. Modern theory of the type 2 supernovae is reviewed, with particular emphasis on the role of neutrinos in gravitational collapse of massive stars. Observations of SN1987A are also reviewed, including detection of neutrinos from supernova outburst. The results of observations are confronted with the supernova theory. These of the results, which are of particular importance for physics, are discussed. 59 refs., 5 figs., 2 tabs. (author)
