Spectral investigation of thermochromism of zinc- and cadmium 1-phenyl-3-0-methoxyphenyl-5-(benzthiazolyl-2) formazonates
Description
The behaviour of zinc- and cadmium 1-phenyl-3-o-methoxyphenyl-5-(benzthiazolyl-2) formazanates and the original formazane has been investigated by means of electron spectroscopy at various temperatures with addition of amines to the propanol solution. Positive and negative thermochromism of 1-phenyl-3o-methoxyphenyl-5-(benzthiazolyl-2) formazane due to the nature of the base may be observed. It is connected with the acid-base balance shift to the ionized, lambda=510 nm, or non-ionized, lambda=395 nm, form. It has been shown that zinc- and cadmium formazanates in the presence of amines or aminohydrochlorides are thermochronic due to the ligand exchange
