Description
A historical review of the research activities related to nuclear energy that were carried out in Mexico, during the 50'Th, is presented. It is also given a semblance of the main personalities of the scientific and governmental scope that were involved in the creation of the former Comision Nacional de Energia Nuclear (CNEN), in 1956, which was the predecessor of the Instituto Nacional de Investigaciones Nucleares (ININ), as well as some of the first applications of nuclear energy in Mexico.
