Corrosion and mass transport of austenitic and ferritic steels in liquid sodium at 5500C

Description
Corrosion and mass transport of austenitic and ferritic steels exposed in two 10,000 h corrosion tests to liquid sodium at 5500C are described. Results of weight losses, carbon analysis and mechanical properties after exposure to sodium as well as argon atmosphere are given. A partial explanation is given for observed corrosion and mass transport in a multi-component mass transfer system. (orig.)

Korrosion und Stofftransport von austenitischen und ferritischen Staehlen bei zwei Versuchen von je 10.000 Stunden Dauer in fluessigem Natrium bei 5500C werden beschrieben. Angegeben werden die Gewichtsverluste, die Kohlenstoffgehalte sowie die mechanischen Eigenschaften nach der Einwirkung von Natrium und von Argon. Fuer die gefundenen Korrosions- und Stofftransporterscheinungen in einem aus zahlreichen Komponenten bestehenden Stoffuebergangssystem werden zumindest Teilerklaerungen gegeben.
