Review of planning and environmental issues relating to centralised anaerobic digestion facilities
Description
The report aims to outline the planning and environmental issues relating to facilities for the centralised anaerobic digestion (CAD) of farm waste and to suggest how such schemes might be promoted by developers having regard to the requirements of the UK's town and country planning system. The objectives of the study were to: discuss planning and environmental issues with planning authorities and environmental health officers so as to establish their concerns; prepare an information memorandum, aimed at both the authorities and project developers, which would outline how these perceived problems might be dealt with by a CAD scheme.
