Two completely damped processes in the reactions of 32S with 27Al
- 1. Max-Planck-Institut fuer Kernphysik, Heidelberg (Germany, F.R.)
Description
Two separate components in the energy spectra of the products of strongly damped collisions of 32S and 27Al exhibit properties consistent with complete damping but differ by 20 MeV in Q value. The difference suggests the existence of scissioning systems with very different angular momenta and might be evidence for the existence of a low branch in the deflection function for strongly damped collisions.
