Effect of solvent on neptunium (5) disproportion in organic media

Description

The neptunium (5) disproportionation process is studied by spectrophotometric method in the mixtures of methanol, benzene and dioxan. The nonpolar solvents are found to accelerate sharply the disproportionation and shift the reaction towards the lower hydrochloric acid concentrations with respect to the pure methanolic solutions
