Measurement of the thermal neutron fission cross-sections ratio of 239Pu and of natural uranium

Description
The cross section ratio has been determined using two different experimental devices for a thermal neutron flux from a radial channel of the Chatillon heavy water cell; this ratio is found equal to 205.7 ± 4. The significance of this result is discussed and compared with cross-section values published elsewhere. Reprint of a paper published in 'Journal de Physique et le Radium', t. 15, Feb 1954, p. 101-108.
Abstract (French)
Le rapport indique en titre a ete determine a l'aide de deux dispositifs experimentaux differents pour un flux de neutrons thermiques issus d'un canal radial de la pile a eau lourde de Chatillon et trouve egal a 205,7 ± 4. La signification de ce resultat est discutee et comparee avec les valeurs de sections efficaces publiees par ailleurs.
