Description
This chapter examines the Chou-Yang model as a phenomenological theory which can fit a range of numbers over several decades. Points out that in proton-proton elastic scattering, which is the best measured single reaction, experimental data do cover twelve decades. Discusses the relationship of the Chou-Yang model to QCD. Presents graphs showing the proton form factor as derived from elastic proton-proton scattering; an elastic proton-proton differential cross section; the discovery of the dip in pp scattering; and elastic pp scattering
