Overview of the development course of FeCrAl alloys for the accident-tolerant fuel cladding
Description
Previously FeCrAl steel failed to become the main cladding material, because of the Large neutron absorption cross section. But with the continuous improvement of the safety performance of the cladding material, FeCrAl alloy has gained wide attention due to its excellent corrosion resistance. In this article, it describes how the alloy compositions of ferritic ODS alloy varies with different performance requirements. And now it is one of the most important candidate materials for the accident-tolerant fuel cladding. In addition, this article also introduces the research progress of FeCrAl alloy for the accident-tolerant fuel cladding. (authors)
