Potential for iridium-191m first-pass radionuclide angiocardiography for the evaluation of left ventricular function in adults: a comparison with gated-equilibrium radionuclide angiocardiography

Description
Left ventricular ejection fraction was measured in adult patients by first-pass radionuclide angiocardiography using injection of iridium-191m. Comparison was made to the measurement of left ventricular ejection fraction by gated-equilibrium radionuclide angiocardiography after injection of technetium-99m-labeled red blood cells in thirteen adult patients. There was good correlation between the two measurements. The authors conclude that it is possible to measure left ventricular ejection fraction with the ultrashort-lived radiopharmaceutical iridium-191m
