Description

Since 1979 the salt dome at Gorleben has been analysed and tested for its suitability as a storage site for all sorts of solid radioactive wastes. This includes mining analysis and materials prospecting, analysis of the geological structure and rock mechanics. The mining site, underground exploration, shaft sinking, road development and drilling programme are clearly described along with safety, cost and time schedule. (DG)

Abstract (German)

Seit 1979 wird der Salzstock Gorleben auf seine Eignung als Endlager fuer alle Arten fester radioaktiver Abfaelle untersucht. Hierzu gehoert der bergmaennische Aufschluss mit der Erkundung des Stoffbestandes, der geologischen Struktur und der Gebirgsmechanik. In anschaulicher Weise werden das Bergwerksgelaende, die untertaegige Erkundung, das Abteufen der Schaechte, die Streckenauffahrung und das Bohrprogramm dargestellt sowie Fragen zur Sicherheit, zu Kosten und Terminen beantwortet.
