55,4 MToe of wood energy in european union

The high price of oil has provoked more and more marked interest for wood energy. All the more so since there are more and more innovative and efficient materials available on the market for private individuals as well as collectivities and industries. Like politicians, power suppliers and utilities have a big role to play in promoting biofuels because European wood energy potential is still to a large degree under used. This barometer presents the situation in the European Union, brings information on consumption of energy from wood fuels, gross electricity generation from wood energy, the wood energy sector industrialists and the fluidized bed combustion.
