NMR imaging data in the case of reflex sympathetic dystrophy

Description

NMR imaging does not count among the routine methods for the diagnostic appraisal of transient osteoporosis of the hip, or of peripheral reflex sympathetic dystrophy. It is nevertheless a method that yields independent information, either on water and fat content (in chemical shift imaging) or on molecular conditions and movements, and thus contributes to a better insight into the pathophysiological conditions of the syndrome, to decisions on staging and about possible reversibility. Abstract (German)

Weder bei der transistorischen Osteoporose der Huefte, noch bei der peripheren Algodystrophie ist die Kernspintomographie Bestandteil der Routinediagnostik geworden. Die MR-Information kann jedoch als unabhaengige Information, teils ueber den Gehalt an Wasser und Fett (insbesondere beim Chemical Shift Imaging), teils als Aussage ueber molekulare Nachbarschaft und Bewegung, zum Verstaendnis der Pathophysiologie der Algodystrophie, zur Stadieneinteilung und zur Frage der Reversibilitaet beitragen.
