Description
A possibility of reduction process in a three-dimensional frame of whitlockite-like structure of double orthophosphates of calcium and cerium is experimentally studied taking Ce(4)/Ce(3) pair as an example. Using the X-ray phase analysis, IR and PMR spectroscopy methods it is shown that even at 693 K in the three-dimensional frame of Ca3-xCe0.5x4+ (PO4)2 (0≤x<2/7) reduction of Ce(4) to Ce(3) takes place under effect of hydrogen without the structure destruction. As a result of the reduction isolated proton introduction into the orthophosphate lattice occurs
