Description
Synroc has been fabricated at the AAEC Research Establishment on a 30-kg scale by using uniaxial hot-pressing. A demonstration plant is being designed to prove the technology and provide firm fabrication cost estimates. The effects of processing parameters, leaching conditions, and irradiation damage on its ability to immobilize radwaste elements have been evaluated
