Coherent vibrational spectroscopic study of ZnII porphyrins in solution using chirped femtosecond Pulses

Description
Femtosecond pump-probe spectroscopy gives direct insight into the coherent dynamics of vibrational wavepacket motion and subsequent vibronic relaxation process in condensed phase. We have studied impulsively photoinduced vibrational coherent motion on the electronically ground and excited states of various ZnII porphyrins; Zn(II)5, 15-di(3,5-di-tert-butylphenyl) porphyrin (ZnII DTBP), Zn(II)tetraphenylporphyrin (ZnII TPP), and Zn(II) octaethyl porphyrin (ZnII OEP) in toluene using chirping-controlled femtosecond pulses. Chirping of the pump pulse is controlled by varying intra-prism path length in dispersion compensation prism pair.
