Description

The study of the potential use of a 99m-Tc-labelled compound without a well-defined chemical structure such as Heparin is handicapped, all the more since the mechanism of action of - even unlabelled - heparin appears to be far from clear. In view of this, the authors have studied the following three areas: - a study of some chemical aspects - a comparison of 99m-Tc-Heparin behaviour with available data - an attempt to relate animal data to the human model, in order to clarify whether the complex under discussion is truly 99m-Tc-Heparin and if the latter possesses the same characteristics as the unlabelled substance with respect to its biokinetics.
