Operation, maintenance and improvements of the ALS. Chapter 3
Description
From October 4th 1975 to october 3rd 1976, 3998 hours of beam time were available for physics experiments and accelerator studies. Lifetime of the klystrons remains good but transmitter operation is perturbed by grid emission of the hard tubes. High power, high repetition rate (3000 Hz) operations for π and μ beam production are described. Positron beams from 30 to 100 MeV are produced with conversion rate e+/e- of 10-3 at 90 MeV in ΔE/E=1.5%
Abstract (French)
Du 4 octobre 1975 au 3 octobre 1976 le faisceau a ete disponible pendant 3998 heures pour des experiences de physique et des etudes de faisceau. Le temps de vie des klystrons reste bon mais la marche du modulateur est perturbee par l'emission de grille des tubes durs. On decrit le fonctionnement a forte puissance et frequence de repetition elevee (3000 Hz) pour la production de faisceaux π et μ. On produit des faisceaux de positons de 30 a 100MeV avec un taux de conversion e+/e- de 10-3 a 90MeV avec ΔE/E=1,5%Files
