Minerals and petroleum: exploration and development in Northern Ireland 1994-1997

This report presents an overview of the geology of Northern Ireland, and gives details on mineral exploration and development in Northern Ireland between 1969 and 1997, mineral licensing (1994-1997), prospecting licenses, mining licenses and leases, and statistics on mineral production. Petroleum exploration between 1964 and 1997, and petroleum licensing (1994-1997) are examined, and the geological survey of Northern Ireland is discussed. Guidance for applicants for mineral and petroleum licenses is presented, and useful addresses are given in appendices. (UK)
