Development and production of nickel-free corrosion resistant steels for NPP equipment

Description

Mechanical properties, workability, weldability and corrosion resistance are presented for newly developed nickel-free steel type 08Kh14MF. The martensitic-ferritic steel is produced on the commercial scale in the form of forgings, sheets, hot and cold worked tubes. Corrosion test did not reveal tendency to intercrystalline corrosion or stress corrosion in chloride-containing media. The steel was tested under operating conditions in nuclear power reactors. Comparative evaluation of properties for steels types 08Kh14MF and 08Kh18N10T is given. 7 tabs
