Initial fuel loading for RAPS-2 after the coolant channel replacement
- 1. Nuclear Power Corporation of India Ltd., Mumbai (India)
Description
The Indian pressurized heavy water reactors (PHWRs) use differential fuelling scheme to achieve the radial flux flattening. The reactor core is divided in two zones i.e. the central zone and the outer zone. The fuel from the central zone is discharged at a high burnup compared to fuel from the outer zone. This differential fuelling scheme along with the bundle shift scheme is used for evolving the equilibrium channel power distribution during the design stage
