Gamma-Gamma Angular-Correlation Measurements in the 44Ca(n, γ)45Ca Reaction

  • 1. Physics Laboratory, Rijksuniversiteit, Utrecht (Netherlands)

Description

Angular-correlation measurements of gamma radiation following thermal neutron capture in 44Ca have been performed with a combination of Ge(Li) and Nal detectors. The following spin assignments of levels in 45Ca were derived: Jπ (0.17) = (5/2, 7/2+), Jπ(1.44) = 3/2-, Jπ(1.90) = 3/2- and Jπ(2.25) = 1/2-, (3/2)-. Some E2/M1 mixing ratios of transitions between bound states of 45Ca have been determined. (author)
