Phase diagrams of ternary systems of rhenium with carbon and transition metals of the 3-7th groups of periodic system

Description
Hypothetical projections of solidus surface of constitution diagrams (CD) are constructed for the Re-Sc (Ti, Zr, Hf, Nb, Ta, Cr, Te,)-C systems according to the data on structure of limiting systems as well on properties of components and carbides (metallochemical and thermodynamic). The prediction is based on the previously established criteria: formation of continuous series of solid solution of carbides of NaCl type (δa/a x 100 ≤ 11%), saturation of NaCl-type phases (ne ≤ 0.48 x 103 nm-3) with carbon and the E. Rudy tie line equation. Experimental surfaces of solidus for the Re-V-C system and partially for Re-Mo(W)-C previously constructed by the authors confirm reliability of the suggested prediction method
