Determination of americium and curium by isotope dilution method
Description
Method for determination of americium and curium content in high-active solutions using isotope dilution is suggested. The method lies in simultaneous chromatographic separation of americium and curium from two portions of analyzed solution. The known amount of 241Am radionuclide is introduced preliminary as a label into one portion. The relative content of americium and curium is determined by alpha-spectroscopic method. The energy resolution of the spectrometer equals ∼8 keV, the sensitive surface of the detector being equal to 20 mm2. This enables to conduct separative determination of the relative 241Am, 244Cm content in solutions of fuel element reprocessing with root-mean-square deviation 0.13
