The determination of cloud masses and dust characteristics from submillimetre thermal emission
Description
The purpose of this paper is to review the principles by which the dust masses and total masses of interstellar clouds and certain characteristics of interstellar dust grains can be derived from observations of far-infrared and submillimetre thermal emission. To the extent possible, the discussion will be independent of particular grain models. (author)
