Excess specific heat of several ionic conduction at low temperatures

  • 1. Max-Planck-Institut fuer Festkoerperforschung, Stuttgart (Germany, F.R.)

Description

We report measurements of the specific heat of various crystalline ionic conductors: Li3N, β-Eukryptite, Hollandite, Nasicon and Cu6PS5Cl for the temperature range between 1.5 (or 0.4 K) and 100 K. In each case an anomalous quasi-linear contribution is observed below 8 K similar to that found in amorphous materials below 1 K. In the 'Nasicon' compounds the additional specific heat strongly depends on the concentration of the tunneling ions. (orig.)
