Generation of MHD waves during plasma motion along the geomagnetic field

Stability of MHD waves at motion of magnetospheric plasma along linearly heterogeneous geomagnetic field is considered. It is shown, that plasma motion in direction of field increase results in MHD oscillation generation. Instability considered mechanism may be responsible for MHD oscillation generation within open force line region of the Earth magnetosphere
