Description

The interim fuel storage facility at Gorleben, Federal Republic of Germany, is described. It provides for dry, intermediate storage of fuel elements in casks and has been granted a licence for this. However, the same concept could be used for the interim storage of highly active, heat-developing waste. Transport of the fuel elements to the Gorleben site is by road and rail. (UK)
