Description
A mass spectrometer designed for isotopic analysis of solids is described. The essential parts of the spectrometer consist of a thermal ionization source, an analyser and a rotatable collector. The electronics and the vacuum system are described. The spectrometer is being used for the routine analysis of Rb, Sr, U, and Pu. An accuracy of nearly 1% is obtained. (A.K.)
