Small farms, big impact - Guide for small ground-mounted photovoltaic farms

We need to produce renewable kWh quickly. But large-scale ground-mounted photovoltaic projects take a long time to get off the ground: tedious procedures, projects (sometimes legitimately) criticized for their environmental impact, weak local support, etc. What if local authorities were to adopt the model of 'small' ground-mounted photovoltaic farms and develop 'village-sized' units? It is not only desirable, it is possible. Over thirty projects are already in operation or under development. In addition to being possible, this model is favored by the latest regulatory developments. This Guide is the fruit of many months of collective work. It is structured as follows: the first part looks at the history and current state of the drive to create 'small' ground-mounted photovoltaic farms in France; the second looks at the technical and land-related aspects of these installations; the third looks at the regulatory procedures required to bring these projects to fruition; and the fourth looks at the legal and economic choices to be made in order to get off to a good start. It also includes an initial 'toolbox' with sample documents and various resources, as well as a detailed bibliography
