Optimal channels for positive parity, strangeness -1 dibaryons
Description
The question of the possible existence of positive-parity, strangeness-1 dibaryons lying below corresponding baryon-baryon thresholds is addressed in the context of a QCD-inspired potential model. One channel, with I=1/2, J=3, is found capable of supporting such a resonance. This prediction provides an independent test for the proposed physical mechanisms underlying recent descriptions of short-range NN forces in terms of quark interactions. (orig.)
