Temperature independence in the confined phase of large-N QCD

Description
I discuss the claim by Gocksch and Neri alluded to in the title and show that (i) for N = infinity it seems correct at strong enough couplings, but need not imply that the deconfining phase transition is first order, and (ii) for large, but finite, N some temperature dependence is introduced
